YOU CAN CLAIM AGAINST DANGEROUS DRIVERS WHO CAUSE YOU INJURIES
If you’ve been involved in a car accident, then you know that the injuries and damage you’ve had to face simply isn’t fair. It’s not fair for someone to drive drunk or to be negligent behind the wheel, because your life is put at risk. Even though steps are taken to reduce the number of accidents every year, that’s often not enough to make people understand the damage they could cause.
According to the 2012 data release from Transport Canada, the number of motor vehicle fatalities was actually on the rise from 2011. They were up 2.7 percent at 2,077. Despite the number of fatalities rising, the number of people injured actually dropped around 1.3 percent.
What this tells the public is that although accidents may be causing more deaths in some cases, the real drop in numbers is in injuries. With more accidents having fewer injuries, it’s possible that traffic safety laws and education is having an effect; safer vehicles can result in fewer injuries overall.
Who is the most likely to be killed? Those between 45 and 54 actually had the highest number of fatal accidents. The next highest number of fatalities was in the age group between 25 and 34.
Injury wise, the group suffering the most injuries was between the ages of 25 and 34. The next highest injury rate was for those between the ages of 45 and 54. The people who suffered fatalities were likely to be driving their vehicles, although pedestrians and passengers in motor vehicles also suffered high fatality rates.
